Afghanistan Universities Association leadership participated at a remarkable seminar on “Banking Sector in Afghanistan Past, Present and Future at a Glance” on 25th Oct, 2017 at Karwan University, where Mr. Khan Afzal Hadawal Afghanistan’s renowned banker and former governor of Da Afghanistan Bank was invited as the key speaker of the program.
Mr. Hadawal presented a shining presentation on Afghanistan’s post-war and modern history of banking sector; he spoke and shared a wealth of his experience of the challenging task of reintroducing a unique and nationwide currency, appreciating the value of Afghani against Dollar, reengineering the key responsibilities of Central Bank, administering the new experience of private banking in Afghanistan, banks should be technically supervised, and the undeniable mistake and failure of the governmental officials made in avoiding Kabul Bank from collapse.
Mr. Hadawal added about the vital role of banking sector certainly the private sector banking in the socio-economic development of Afghanistan, and its role in partnering with the private sector in bringing facilities for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Afghanistan and finally pointed out as “Banking sector is the lifeblood of economic development of a country”.
At the end of program certificate of appreciation for his good work and his commitment for the country is given by Mr. Asif Nang former governor, deputy minister and now president of Karwan University Technical Research Center and Mr. Sayed Javed Andish Afghanistan Universities Association Chairman.
